Brief Bio

Viviane Juguero is an artist, researcher, professor, and cultural manager. She holds a Bachelor, Specialist, Master, and Doctorate Degree in Performing Arts from the Brazilian Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. In her Ph.D., she developed "radical dramaturgy" and "Children's Ludic Logic" concepts based on 27 years of her artistic work. Her doctoral investigation was partially held at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. She is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Arts and Education of the University of Stavanger. At UiS, she develops the investigation "Pluriperceptive and Multicultural Theatricalities to diverse Early Childhoods" as a researcher of the FILIORUM (Centre for Research in Early Childhood Education and Care). She is currently a member of the international Academic Expert Advisory Board of the CAST - Centre for Arts and Social Transformation of the University of Auckland. 
Juguero is the author of books, plays, audiovisual scripts, artistic-pedagogical projects, songs, articles, and essays, staged and published in Brazil and abroad, in Portuguese, English, German, Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese. In 2021, many of her artistic texts are in production. In Brazil, three of her plays for children will be released this year, and two feature films and an audiovisual series are also in process. She is also one of the authors of the book "Poems of Love and Shadow" which will be released this year in Brazil and Italy. In 2022, besides other publications, the book "The Routledge Companion to Drama Education," where Juguero signs the chapter "Theatre for children's dialogical specificities, "will be published by Routledge, edited by Peter O'Connor and Mary Mc Avoy. 
Her work is socially committed and engaged with social justice and diversity in many different aspects. Due to her dramaturgical work with Black Theatre and Theatre for Children, Juguero has been studied nationally in Brazil in diverse initiatives. In addition, she is the idealizer and pedagogical coordinator of the international cooperative project ART AS SCIENCE. It promotes virtual dialogues with experts about the social role of art. Juguero taught workshops and lectures in Brazil and abroad besides working in undergraduate and postgraduate courses as a professor. Juguero is a member of diverse national and international networks and has administrative experiences in various cultural settings.
